Newswire & Press Release / BASF Unveils New Neopolen Color Shade for Transport Boxes, Toys and Hobby Products – Packaging Equipment / Service – BASF
⢠Neopolen® P 9435 LB polypropylene foam adds new design options to the EPP color range;
⢠Neopolen® at Foam Expo Europe, November 9-11, Stuttgart, Germany.
The new color shade is characterized by a deep light blue and complements the existing range of four vibrant colors signal red, azure blue, dark green and sun yellow, in which BASF’s EPP has been available to date. Neopolen® P 9435 LB (LB: light blue) offers the excellent material properties of the Neopolen® family. It is available at a density of approx. 35g / l. With this ownership profile, it is particularly suitable for toys and leisure products, transport containers in the catering and gastronomy sectors, dunnage trays in automotive production and high-quality reusable packaging.
With the new color grade, there is virtually no limit to the variety of colors in many applications. Besides the manufacture of solid-colored components, the colors can be mixed and matched with each other as well as with white or black Neopolen® granules. Thus, the goods can also be individually color coded for transport. In addition, the new light blue also extends the design freedom for children’s toys, wellness items such as massage rollers and visible components in furniture. All color shades are produced with high quality BASF pigments.
Neopolen® P 9435 LB can be easily processed like all other EPP grades. It exhibits high energy absorption at low weight, good resilience after static and dynamic loads, and essentially unchanged energy absorption after repeated impact loads. The new color variant is resistant to chemicals and oils, has good thermal insulation properties and low water absorption. Light blue foam particles are available as packaged products from stock.
Neopolen® (neopolen.basf.com) is a recyclable polypropylene (EPP) foam consisting of particles of expanded foam, mainly closed cell, free from chemical blowing agents. Converters turn balls into castings with great freedom of design and geometry for use in various industries. A molded density of between 20 and 110 kg / m³ can be achieved with the standard product line. The Neopolen® components can be reused in different ways.
