Chelsea press conference LIVE: Thomas Tuchel on Malmö’s victory, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic

Good evening and welcome to the live coverage of Thomas Tuchel’s post-match press conference following Chelsea’s Champions League win over Malmö in Sweden which was far from straightforward.

The Blues dominated the match in terms of possession of the ball and creation of chances but it was the winner of Hakim Ziyech just before the hour mark that was decisive.

The first half was frustrating for the Blues as they had 69 percent of the ball, seven shots on target but failed to get past Malmö Dahlin’s stopper, although the keeper almost helped the Blues out twice in rummaging the ball in its six-court box.

Tuchel reversed Hudson-Odoi and Ziyech after the break and it paid off a lot when the Blues took the lead just before the hour mark.

Kai Havertz did well to fend off two Malmö defenders and played a nice ball to put Hudson-Odoi aside and his fabulous low cross was directed to the far post by Ziyech to give the European champions the advantage in title.

The Blues presented Christian Pulisic for the final 15 minutes on the bench as he made his first appearance for the club since the opening weekend of the Premier League season and victory over Crystal Palace.

The USMNT star missed a fabulous chance to make it 2-0 in second-half injury time after rounding Dahlin, but skewed his luck far away.

We will hear from Tuchel soon, for the first time since joining the club as head coach, it will be an in-person press conference in Sweden, and we will bring you all updates via the live blog. below.
